Sixth Form

Welcome to Carshalton Boys Sports College Sixth Form

Lorna EllisWe are delighted that you are interested in finding out more about this continuously expanding and improving sixth form.

All the information you need to know about the courses planned for September 2010 are contained on the website, and in the prospectus. Not only do we welcome students from Carshalton Boys’ Year 11, but we also welcome both girls and boys from other schools. Our friendly atmosphere makes us a welcoming destination for students joining us for the first time.

Our sixth form is a small caring community. With numbers of students normally around 150, I have the great privilege of being able to know them all individually. With a team of great tutors and good subject teachers, we all work together to make sure that each student gets the individual support and encouragement they need to achieve their best.

Over the last few years our sixth form has gone from strength to strength. Numbers in the sixth form grow every year; the range of courses available expands; we have increased our links with other schools, alongside more links with the community and universities; our results continue to improve and Ofsted recognises these strengths and developments.

At Carshalton Boys we focus on learning and teaching and have developed a wide range of courses for students of all abilities. We look for hard working, enthusiastic and motivated students who will enjoy the courses that they choose and contribute in a positive way to the Sixth Form and the whole school community.

From September 2010 we will offer a choice of two Level 3 routes. One route will be through traditional A level courses; and the other will be a more vocational, practical route.

The main way to find out more about our sixth form is the sixth form open evening in November, but you can always contact the school or speak to me directly if you have any questions.

I look forward to receiving your application and welcoming you in September 2010,

Lorna Ellis
Director of Sixth Form
