Year 10 Aimhigher Trip

Year 10 Trip to The University of Reading

This January 20th year 10 students had the opportunity to visit the University of Reading as part of the Reading Scholars programme. On their school visit students had a campus tour of all the state-of-the-art facilities and spoke to different ambassadors about their experience of university life. Students especially loved seeing the beautiful green campus and asking current students questions about their studies.

They were also introduced to the Scholars programme which they will take part in for the next couple months.  During the programme students will receive study skills sessions on a variety of topics from synthesising information, citing sources, and critical thinking. They will all create an independent project on any topic of their choosing and it will be displayed at the University of Reading for their graduation ceremony in April. So far all the participants have stretched themselves and shown great independence in their work, especially at their first in school session last month. We are all looking forward to seeing their creative and unique final projects!
