As a college that has been awarded the Food for Life Silver Award, we offer a wide range of freshly prepared food every day, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our school chef regularly changes the menu, and we host theme days including ‘Meat free Monday’ and a full roast dinner every Wednesday.
The school café is open between the following times:
07:30 – 08:25 | Breakfast: serving cooked breakfast, cereals and fresh fruit |
10:45 – 11:00 | Morning break: serving a wide range of snacks |
13:00 – 13:45 | Lunch: serving a range of hot meals, salads, pastas and desserts |
14.45 – 15.45 | Post school: serving a selection of hot and cold food, along with a selection of drinks |
We also have three Refuel Huts, where students can make speedy purchases of sandwiches, cold pasta dishes, yogurts, and hot ‘pots’ - ranging from macaroni cheese to beef tacos.
Purchases at the café and refuel hut are made in one using a biometric system; students and staff scan their finger at the start of the year. No fingerprints are stored on our system.
Each member of Carshalton Boys has a food account (on Wisepay). Money can be credited to the account by:
- Logging into WisePay and making an online payment
- Using the cash loaders located in the main reception or café corridors
The accounts of students who are entitled to Free School Meals, automatically have £2.10 credited to their accounts before lunchtime each day, to enable them to purchase a hot meal and dessert.
